day trip to DC and Great Falls

We were all set for a day of adventure ... especially Kona.

First stop the Air Force Memorial in Arlington

Swung by the Washington Monument ... here's to you Mr. Washington

Then on to Great Falls near McLean, VA.
Pretty spectacular, huh?

Kona really wanted up on the railing (which, it's clearly posted that you are not to do)

A day well spent! Happy weekend everyone.

snow day!! (again)

just enough to enjoy :)

these are a few of my favorite things ... about the weekend

I'm not sure how dogs understand when it's the weekend - but they do. Maybe it's because we sleep a little later & we are less stressed - but Kona loves weekend mornings just as much as I do. Most weekend days when I wake up I look down to the foot of the bed, and she'll crack an eyeball to look back at me and start wagging her tail. She likes to stretch and roll over to give me a chance to rub her belly. It's the sweetest thing.

snow!

It snowed Monday. Which was also my first day to drive to work. And with a new GPS - that tries to reroute you to avoid traffic. So, the GPS was all about the surface streets. Plus, I may or may not have missed a few turns. Anyways, I got to drive right by (not like "oh, i see that in the distance" no, the only thing separating me from it was some grass) the washington monument, the capitol, the nationals baseball stadium (at least twice). I won't say how long it took me get home, but it was more than enough. So, that was kinda unfortunate.

But, so pretty :)

(outside our apt window). and Rob did text me that "Kona made yellow snow" :)
